BubbleTalk ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by BeautifulMinds Africa. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. By using BubbleTalk, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, profile photo, and children's profile details (name and age). We also collect usage data such as feature interactions, session duration, and device information to improve the app experience. AI-generated symbol images are created on your behalf and stored securely.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide and maintain the app, personalise communication boards and schedules for your child, generate AI-powered symbol images, track your subscription status, send important service notifications, and improve our features based on aggregated usage patterns.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using PocketBase with encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure enclave via expo-secure-store. We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure API authentication, and access controls to protect your personal information.

Children's Privacy

BubbleTalk is designed for parents and caregivers to use with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. All child profile data is managed by the parent or caregiver account holder. Child profiles contain only a name, age, and optional avatar photo that the parent provides.

AI-Generated Content

Symbol images generated through our AI service are created based on text descriptions you provide. These images are stored on our servers and associated with your account. We do not use your generated content to train AI models. Generated symbols are private to your account unless explicitly shared.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services: Google OAuth for authentication, Google Imagen for AI symbol generation, and expo-speech for text-to-speech functionality. Each service has its own privacy policy governing data use. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon account deletion, all personal information, child profiles, boards, schedules, emotion logs, and generated symbols will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may update your profile information directly in the app. You can remove your profile photo at any time. To request a full data export or account deletion, contact us at it.beautifulminds@gmail.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the app. Your continued use of BubbleTalk after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
